What we do

Areas of work and responsibilities of the Federation

Monitoring and follow-up
Based on the firm belief that children are the cornerstone of the future of societies, the Federation is dedicated to ensuring that every child enjoys the right to a decent life, education, health, and protection from all forms of exploitation and violence. Through awareness raising, advocacy, and providing legal and humanitarian support, the Federation works to create a safe environment that allows children to grow, develop, and realize their full potential

Monitoring and follow-up

Monitoring and follow-up is one of the most important tasks carried out by the International Organization for the protection of children's rights (IFDRC), and is an integral part of efforts to ensure the implementation of international conventions related to the protection of children's rights. This process focuses on making sure that governments and countries that are signatories to international treaties and conventions, such as the United Nations Convention on the rights of the child (CRC), adhere to the standards and obligations they have undertaken. IFDRC takes several actions within the framework of this mission to ensure that children receive their full rights in all countries

Monitoring government implementation of child rights conventions

IFDRC works intensively to monitor the extent to which governments implement conventions related to the rights of the child. This is done by:

Evaluation of local policies and laws: the organization analyzes the national laws and policies of each signatory country to international agreements, and makes sure that they comply with the principles set out in those agreements.
Following up on legislative developments: the organization seeks to monitor any updates in local laws that may affect the rights of the child, whether positive or negative, with the aim of ensuring equal and fair rights for all children.

Preparation of reports and documentation of violations

One of the main responsibilities of IFDRC is the preparation of periodic reports that it submits to international organizations, such as the UN Committee on the rights of the child. These reports include:

Documenting violations: the Organization documents violations of children’s rights in various countries, whether these violations are caused by a lack of legislation, the inaction of governments to implement the laws, or as a result of difficult socio-economic conditions.
Analysis of field data: the organization relies on field teams to collect data on the situation of children’s rights on the ground, whether through interviews with children and families or through collecting information from civil society organizations.
