According to the United Nations, one million children in Gaza are living “hell on earth”, with almost 40 children being killed every day, since the war began on October 7, 2023. According to James Elder, UNICEF spokesman, the situation for children in Gaza is getting worse with each passing day, as they are subjected to repeated displacement and do not find safety in schools or hospitals. Elder spoke about the case of a child named Qamar, who was injured during a shelling on the Jabalia camp and had her leg amputated due to lack of treatment. “Gaza has become a graveyard for thousands of children,” he added, stressing that the continuation of this suffering should motivate humanity to take concrete steps.
